Why we built this

Made by a teacher,
for teachers and students

Musical ideas need to be visualized to be understood. When you're explaining a scale, a voicing, or a progression, you need a diagram — right now, not after ten minutes of fiddling with software.

String Map was built by a multi-instrumental music instructor who got tired of the gap between having a musical idea and being able to show it to a student. Every feature exists because it solved a real problem in a real lesson.

The goal is simple: make it as frictionless as possible to create diagrams on the fly, explain your ideas visually, and build materials that make your teaching more interactive. String Map puts flexible, responsive notation in your hands.

Everything else in String Map works great in Safari. This limitation only affects MIDI hardware input.
