Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using stringmap.app ("String Map," "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Description of Service
String Map is a music education web application that provides interactive fingerboard diagrams, tablature editing, and practice tools for guitar, banjo, ukulele, bass, mandolin, and other instruments. The Service includes both free features and optional paid subscriptions.
Accounts
Some features require creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service
- Use automated tools to scrape or collect data from the Service
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense the Service without written permission
Your Content
You retain ownership of any content you create using String Map, including diagrams, tablature, and saved configurations. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
Content stored locally in your browser remains entirely under your control. Content synced to the cloud is stored securely and used only to provide the Service to you.
Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, features, and branding, is owned by String Map and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. These terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or other brand features.
Subscriptions & Payments
Paid subscriptions are billed on a recurring basis through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method at the applicable rate.
You can cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — no partial refunds for unused time, but you keep access until the period ends.
Free Features
Many features of String Map are available without an account or subscription. We reserve the right to modify which features are included in free and paid tiers, but we will not remove access to features you have already paid for during an active subscription period.
Service Availability
We strive to keep String Map available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control.
Limitation of Liability
String Map is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.
Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting admin@stringmap.app.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Locally stored data remains on your device.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
