We Don't Sell Your Data
String Map does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Your data exists to serve you — not to be monetized.
Cookies & Storage
Most of your data stays on your device. Instrument settings, tunings, and audio preferences are stored locally in your browser. If you're signed in, your saved diagrams and tabs are also backed up to our cloud servers so you don't lose your work. We never sell or share this content.
If you create an account, your email and saved session data (diagrams, tabs) are backed up to secure cloud storage. We don't use tracking cookies. Functional cookies may be set for security and performance only.
What We Collect
Email and password if you sign up. Optional — the app works without an account.
Basic analytics about which features get used. Helps us improve the app.
Tunings, fret counts, memory slots, and audio config. Stays on your device.
Occasional service updates if you have an account. No marketing without consent.
Third-Party Services
We use a small number of trusted services to host and run the app. We do not use any advertising or tracking providers.
Children's Privacy
We don't knowingly collect personal info from children under 13 without parental consent (COPPA). The app works fully without an account, making it suitable for younger students. If you believe a child has shared personal data with us, contact admin@stringmap.app and we'll delete it promptly.
Data Deletion
Clear your browser data to remove local settings instantly. To delete your account and cloud data, email admin@stringmap.app — we'll process it within 30 days.
Changes to This Policy
We'll update the "Last updated" date when things change. No surprises.
